Phentermine (generic Adipex, also Fastin and Ionamine) is an FDA approved weight loss medication the suppresses appetite, and can decrease the sensation of hunger and cravings. It works on the hypothalamus to release the neurotransmitter epinephrine which reduces hunger. It works outside the brain as well to release epinephrine or adrenaline causing fat cells to break down stored fat.

DIETHYLPROPION (GENERIC TENUATE)
Diethylpropion is an appetite suppressant that is milder than phentermine. It works by acting on the appetite center in the brain to cause a temporary reduction in hunger or cravings.

TOPIRAMATE (GENERIC TOPAMAX)
